Title: Are our parents spending enough time with us?
Characters:
Jessica, a 15-year-old girl
Samantha, Jessica's best friend
Mr. and Mrs. Lee, Jessica's parents
Scene 1:
(Jessica and Samantha are sitting on a park bench, chatting)
Samantha: Hey, Jess, do you feel like your parents spend enough time with you?
Jessica: (sighs) Not really. They're always busy with work and household chores.
Samantha: I know how you feel. My parents are the same. Sometimes I feel like they don't even know me.
Jessica: Yeah, it's like they take us for granted. We need their support and guidance, but they're too busy to notice.
Scene 2:
(Mr. and Mrs. Lee are sitting in the living room, watching TV)
Mrs. Lee: (yawning) I'm so tired from work. I just want to relax for a while.
Mr. Lee: (nodding) Same here. The office was hectic today.
Jessica: (entering the room) Hi, Mom, Dad. Can we talk for a minute?
Mrs. Lee: (smiling) Of course, honey. What's on your mind?
Jessica: (hesitant) Uh, it's just that...I feel like we haven't spent much time together lately. You're always working or doing chores, and I feel kind of neglected.
Mr. Lee: (surprised) Is that how you feel? We had no idea.
Mrs. Lee: (apologetic) We're sorry, sweetie. We didn't mean to neglect you. We just have a lot on our plates.
Jessica: (tearfully) I know, but I need you guys to be there for me, especially at this age. I'm going through a lot of changes and challenges.
Mr. Lee: (concerned) What kind of changes and challenges?
Jessica: (opening up) Well, I'm starting to think about college and my future career. I'm also dealing with peer pressure and social media drama.
Mrs. Lee: (comforting) We understand. We'll try to make more time for you and support you in any way we can.
Scene 3:
(A few weeks later, Jessica and her parents are having a picnic in the park)
Jessica: (smiling) This is so nice. I love spending time with you guys.
Mr. Lee: (smiling back) We love spending time with you too, honey. We realize how important it is to be present and attentive.
Mrs. Lee: (nodding) We want you to know that we're here for you, no matter what. We're proud of you and believe in you.
Jessica: (grateful) Thanks, Mom and Dad. I appreciate your support and encouragement.
(They continue to enjoy the picnic, bonding as a family)
